Marialuisa’s Succulent Bouquets in BH&G
Long Lasting Flower Arrangements
Timed perfectly for Mother’s Day and June weddings, now on newstands nationwide is my article featuring San Diego floral designer Marialuisa Kaprielian of Urban Succulents. Below are a few of my photos from the day of the shoot. (I expedited the shoot and wrote the article; Ed Gohlich photographed it.) The cover is at left.
Above: Marialuisa combines dried flowers with succulents for pops of color. Although fresh flowers are lovely with succulents, dry material obviously lasts a LOT longer. Such bouquets need no water and look fabulous for weeks, even months. Best of all, when you’re done with a succulent bouquet, you can plant it!
Succulents have been good to MariaLuisa, who ships her arrangements nationwide–often with the help of her teenaged triplet sons. (!) This YouTube video I made of her bouquet technique has had nearly 18,000 views~ DebraLee Baldwin
